SAD AS ZAMBIA'S FIRST PRESIDENT, KENNETH KAUNDA PASSES AWAY.

 



Zambia’s founding father, Kenneth Kaunda, has died aged 97, it was officially announced in the country’s capital, Lusaka, on Thursday.

Kaunda, also popularly known as KK, served as the first President of Zambia from 1964 to 1991. (PANA/NAN)

The late legendary Nigerian Reggae artist, Ras Kimono, who passed on at the age of 60, will be buried in his home town, Onitsha Olona, Delta State, on August 25, Premium Times reports. Ras Kimono died in a Lagos hospital on June 10, after a brief illness. The family of the late reggae legend revealed this at a briefing in Surulere, Lagos. Theophilus Ehizibue, who spoke on behalf of the family at the briefing said, “Kimono’s journey to eternity will commence on August 17, with a social wake keep at his residence in Magodo, Lagos on August 22. The Director General of the World Trade Organization, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is billed to deliver a Keynote address, Friday, April 15, as the Abia Governor-Elect Dr. Alex Otti inaugurates his Transition Council in Aba.  Dr. Okonjo-Iweala's address will be followed with the inauguration of the Council before the plenary session would commence.
